Whip out your diaries and get ready to start planning! Diverse City- The Kuala Lumpur International Arts Festival is back! Now in its fourth year, the 2018 edition features an amazingly diverse range of performances that celebrate the senses and conversations to stimulate the mind.

Showcasing a plethora of work across multiple genres from world-renowned artists, stars on the rise, and a wealth of home-grown talent, you’re definitely in for a treat whether you’re a passionate lover of the arts, simply enjoy dabbling in the scene or interested in family friendly shows.

Like the host city, the KL International Arts Festival 2018 is a three-dimensional matrix of skill, craft, history and heritage, with angles and curves that are filled with talent, understanding and emotion.

This year, see the true colours of the spoken word and be touched by the lilting rhythms of the ancient seruling, rebana and sape. Absorb love, lust, honour, desire and death as you hear the vocabulary of life itself play out in a spectacular dance-theatre-drama. Catch the scent of filial piety and be moved. Get a whiff of the woman ogre scorned and be afraid.

The KL International Arts Festival 2018 features 15 new acts, with a month of artistic adventures scheduled in 10 venues.

In the Festival line-up this year are the World Premiere of Cloud Soup by Wolfe Bowarte, the Asian Premieres of I  Am Ravana and Eggsistentialism, the lilting melodies of the mystical sape’, exquisite dances from Borneo and a classic Mak Yong drama Raja Tangkai Hati by the renown Kijang Emas troupe from Kelantan.

For the first time, the Festival will also be showcasing a full length movie, the South East Asian debut of the critically acclaimed Akram Khan’s Giselle.

“We are delighted to present shows which offer the combined power of all our senses,” said Datin Sunita Rajakumar, “this is a feast to feed the soul.”
